West Highland Way, Scotland

The West Highland Way is Scotland’s most iconic long-distance hike, stretching 96 miles from Milngavie, just outside Glasgow, to Fort William in the Scottish Highlands. As an inn-to-inn experience, hikers can enjoy dramatic landscapes while staying in cozy inns and small hotels along the way. Well-marked trails, welcoming villages, and rich Highland history make it an accessible yet unforgettable journey, blending wild scenery with the comfort of a warm meal and soft bed each night.

We hiked this trail in 2017 utilizing Contours Holidays to do our bookings and baggage transfers. There are many hike options for this trail. We completed the 3 day north portion and would recommend it as a perfect first inn-to-inn hike experience.
